Give Your Skin A Healthy Diet - Eat Right For Great Skin

Our bodies are what we make them. What goes in, has a great affect on how we feel and our overall appearance. A healthy lifestyle provides far more than just a good digestive tract anda  lower fat body content. Eating the right foods can also help promote healthier, more radiant skin. Skin troubles linked to poor eating habits include wrinkles, loss of elasticity, bags under the eyes, puffiness and poor skin color.

A balanced, healthy diet is the best way to achieve healthy skin. According to experts at WebMD, skin treats and specific foods are the best way to boost the natural glow of your complexion. Here is a list of suggested foods that are best to help boosting your skin's overall health and appearance.

Anti-Aging Skin Care Tips to Follow

Water: One of the best ways to keep your skin looking refreshed and healthy is to drink plenty of water. Drinking plenty of water will help increase your skin's elasticity. It is suggested to drink about eight glasses of pure, clean water per day.

I love Smart Water and drink 20oz while I am at work and then I have another bottle in the kitchen and yet another on my nightstand for those middle of the night sips!

Low-fat dairy products: Containing Vitamin A, low-fat dairy products help improve our skin cells, promoting brighter and fresher skin.

I don't dring milk, but I do eat yogurt and have cheese or cottage cheese fairly often. A great supplement is another way to get your Vitamin A.

Green tea: Drinking green tea offers multiple health benefits primarily because it acts as a anti-inflammatory agent. Some studies have even suggested green team may help reduce the risk of skin cancer.

Black tea has similar effects, so if you don't love green tea, consider a cup of Earl Grey tea in the morning. Yummy. That is my all time favorite. No coffee for me. Earl Grey with raw honey and a tablespoon of MCT oil.

Healthy oils: A decent amount of healthy oils, such as virgin olive oil, help keep our skin lubricated and looking healthier.

Oils are necessary for everything. Make sure you get your oils in every day. As I mentioned above you can sneak them in a variety of ways. MCT oil in your coffee (bullet proof coffee) or in your tea will help keep caffeine levels even and give you a sense of fullness.

Think about adding in supplements. I highly suggest pure emu oil in 1000mg capsules each morning.

Blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and plums: These four foods have high concentrations of antioxidants, which help clear and refresh our body's skin.

Mix some berries with healthy nuts for a great mid day snack for you and for your skin!

Whole-wheat bread, muffins and cereals: These items contain selenium, which is good for skin cell reproduction. Selenium is important to help promote the development of new skin cells to help replace damaged ones. Other foods with high selenium concentrations include turkey, tuna and brazil nuts.

The good folks at Web MD want you to eat bread. ME, heck no! I am against all the garbage found in today's loaves. I much prefer to take a Selenium supplement. Not only is is great for your skin, it can reduce your rate of getting breast cancer by over 80%!!!! Go get some selenium right now.

Salmon, walnuts, canola oil and flax seed: This odd grouping of foods are suggested for healthier skin due to the high amounts of essential fatty acids. These four foods help promote healthy cell membranes that act as barriers for our skin.

Same as the healthy oils, this group helps to moisturize your skin. I have eczema and the more oil the better. Emu or omegas.

Other skin-healthy foods include: Carrots, apricots, yellow and orange fruits and vegetables, spinach and leafy green vegetables, tomatoes, beans, peas and lentils. Eat right and have great skin.

Not only are they delicious! They are amazing for your skin. Enjoy your veggies in a skin friendly yogurt dip like Bolthouse Yogurt Ranch. It is my FAVORITE with salads and brocolli.

Go through the list above and make a list of foods you are already eating and which ones you will need to add into your current diet. In addition to drinking water, eating and drinking at least four to six servings of each of the skin-healthy foods will help increase your skin's overall health.

Many of these foods will help you improve your skin quality from the inside out. A healthy diet will help make your daily skin care regiment easier and more effective. Stop by Platinum Skin Care today to see how our products can help improve your skin's quality and overall appearance.
